Twilight of the Superheroes

June 20, 2007 at 10:15 pm (Alan Moore, comics)

I’ve been making my way through the Hellblazer mythos, not to mention Swamp Thing, and was surprised to find Twilight. Apparently, it influenced Kingdom Come to some degree.

Wow. What a short post.

I was aware of Moore’s Twilight, but I’ve never done much research into it. Did I ever loan you Kingdom Come?

Oh, and I’m working my way through Hellblazer too, though I’m only on issue 28.

I haven’t been able to find Swamp Thing.

No, you never lent it to me. To borrow a euphemism, I “acquired” it as well as The Kingdom.

I’m not exactly sure where I’m at in Hellblazer (#13?) since I’ve undertaken the silly quest of going through the Index of Constantine appearances as listed in the site I posted: in Theoretical Chronology! I’ve got myself reading Shade: The Changing Man due to this reading method. Just finished Crisis on Infinite Earths too.

I began Swamp Thing at #20 where Moore’s run begins. So far, so good.

Ah, Kingdom Come. An enjoyable read that was. Interesting work by Waid there.

Yeah, I figured I’d just read Hellblazer for now.

That’s some good horror right there. And I don’t even like horror usually. I’m, I think, three or four issues away from the start of Ennis’ run.
