Money and Oil Explained
Via Warren Ellis, Todd Diamond appears to be a recent addition to National Post’s slew of economic experts, and considering the recent downturn in the market these past few days, his advice may well be more valuable than your home or anything in it.

I like to think that he’ll grow increasingly manic looking as this series goes on.
I’m enjoying it so far.

Yes, I look forward to the downward spiral.
However, I was surprised this was sponsored by the National Post. They’ve always seemed so tightly-wound to me. Then again, I’d be surprised if the Globe and Mail had done the same. I guess it’s just the strangeness of seeing the Canadian print media, let alone its print-media giants, making the leap to you-tube videos.

I can most definitely say that the National Post has offered me crazy amounts of freedom compared to the stories I hear (and have experienced) at other publications. Strangely, a more conservative publication also means that there’s fewer levels of bureaucracy! It’s weird, and entirely based on observation, but the Post is a pretty loose paper and likes trying new things.

Cool! Todd Diamond himself is commenting on your site, M!
There is an oddity to the approachable nature of web-celebrity. I find myself overly conditioned to the regular celebrity mold, never expecting to receive responses from a TV or movie star, yet it’s easy to receive responses from web celebs.
Does this imply anything about the next generation of celebrities, or is it that people who are still on the web have not yet realized that new level of unattainability that other celebrities have.

I can only say that since it took me so long to respond that not only am I celebrity shy, but I’m also internet-celebrity shy.
Thanks for posting Chip. I never would have thought that about the Post. Pretty neat of them, actually.

Wow, that guy gives David Caruso a run for his money. And his oil. Ow.
And speaking of downward spirals, this video series is both educational, and depressingly spiralling: http://www.mydamnchannel.com/Big_Fat_Brain/You_Suck_at_Photoshop/YouSuckatPhotoshop1_398.aspx
